According to legend, a normal college student was studying in the library late at night one evening. She needed some books she'd already borrowed but had left at home, so she hurried back to her dorm room to pick them up.

She quietly sneaked into the room without turning on the light to get her books without waking her roommate. She grabbed the books and left again.

Later, she returned to the room, climbed into bed and went to sleep.

On the night in question, a strange sound woke the woman and, as always, she slipped her hand over the side of the bed and felt her dog's wet tongue against her hand.

When she woke up the next morning, she found her roommate dead in her blood-soaked bed with her throat slit.

Written on the wall in blood was the message: "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?"
