As polls close on Thursday, exit polls give us the first glimpse at the potential result of the 2017 General Election of the United Kingdom.

Polls show the Conservative Party coming in as the largest party, but failing to secure an overall majority, with 314 seats.

Labour stands at 266 seats, SNP at 34 and Liberal Democrats at 14. The Green Party retain their 1 seat and Plaid secure 3 seats.

Exit polls are designed to give an idea of what the final results may look like, but they are not final and we will know better when the first results begin to come in.
